One Good King

Just ONE good King,

is all that we ask,

to rule o’er us.

He’ll carry the banner,

and take all the heat.

Protect us in trial,

never knowing defeat.

Give us today our REAL daily bread.

But,

look how often,

WE have us OUR king,

Look in the mirror,

beholding that king!

Who does not serve,

But only his needs.

He’s of trifling power,

Full of injustice and weak.

How quickly his feet,

do run to do evil.

So, crack the mirror!

Break the glass!

and offer his throne

to the One true King.

Seek His justice!

Cry out for mercy!

Make the Christ,

Your one true King.

Just ONE good King,

is all that we ask.
